This is a one off single seater originally built in 2013 by famous engineering reverend Barry Whitehead. I bought the car in 2019 after it had been out of use for several years following his death. Since then I've recommissioned it, renewing the suspension, fitted a good Suzuki GSXR1000 K8 engine with a swing arm alloy sump and modern exhaust, an OMS rear wing, and replacing things like the gear change and throttle cables. I had a nose cone made to tidy up the front end and also significantly lightened the car removing some of the obsolete data logging boxes and the dry sump equipment. New Avon slicks were fitted in 2021 (3 events old now) and have been wrapped since last season, I've just finished fitting a new 6 point harness and the car is log booked and ready to go for 2022. It has adjustable rubber band suspension that Barry fitted to all his cars which is supremely adjustable but probably needs setting up - I never got round to it, but the car comes with a set of narrow set up wheels and pretty much everything on it is adjustable including the shocks and front and rear wings as well as suspension angles. The car comes with an array of spares including a chain, a spare set of wheels (there are 4 wet weather tyres but they are pretty hard), nose cone mould, front wing mould, set up wheels, drive shafts, front and rear sprockets (to alter gearing) and a few other bits and bobs. The engine was set up on a dyno in 2021 using the power commander fitted and I have a dyno sheet from that shows 180bhp @ wheels so it is a little missile given that it weighs only 325kg. The car is competetive with other steel framed cars such as OMSs but is definitely more individual. I've been up Harewood in 58 seconds in it and I'm fairly sure it can go a couple quicker than that in decent weather and set up properly. I am 5'10" and fit in it, but I'd suggest if you're much taller it will be a bit of a squeeze - there is plenty of width though! It does have a pop off steering wheel and easy access into the cockpit as well. I have lots more photos available and an in car video from Doune in 2021 (which was terrifying but fun). You won't find a cheaper way into a speed single seater with a decent bike engine! The car is located at CA7 2QX in North West Cumbria.
