It is built in the heart of a fertile region at an altitude 60m from the sea and about 2km from the nearest beach. In the village, there are two mini markets, bakery, butcher shop, pharmacy and two taverns where you can taste traditional Cretan food. Busses for Rethymno go and come back about every hour.
