From the rocks and rocky foundation, you can see that its origins and history are a lot older: it is within the walls of the old Moorish castle, and the surrounding street plan has not changed much since 1505. You can see that the house has been adapted to suit all seasons. From the front door you walk through a lounge, then a dining room, then a downstairs toilet and a little kitchen. This floor is ideal to escape the heat and eye piercing light of the long, hot summers. A staircase leads to the 1st floor, where on one end you find 1 spacious bedroom with a balcony, and on the other side a bathroom with shower. In between is a tiny room that has been used as a spare room for a single guest, as well as office or storage room. Another staircase leads to the 2nd floor. You arrive in a room that used to be the washing room, and that has a terrace that is small, yet big enough for table and chairs. This washing room is also connected to another room that could be a bedroom, or winter lounge, and that again has its own balcony. This 2nd floor makes a great winter floor, because it always catches the sun.Now there is also a back entrance from a back alley, at a lower level. Through that door you arrive in a patio in which you still see that the house is built on the rocks. From here you walk into the cellar floor of the house, which exists of small spaces that are suitable for storage or a bodega. An staircase leads to you back to the ground floor. From that back door you walk within minutes to a street where you can park, 2 small streams, and the \"campo\" or countryside and the hills and mountains of the National Park, a paradise for hikers, nature lovers and bird watchers. Because of its lack of industry, the quality of the clean air of Tolox is among the highest in Andalusia (and that says something). You are also within minutes at a gym, summer public swimming pool, over a dozen tape-bars and restaurants, a dozen grocery stores... it's a village you never need to leave if you don't want to.
