The Nemesis 08 was built by Gibson Motorsport to participate in the Clubmans Sports-prototype Championship (Paul Gibson is the renowned designer of the highly successful Vision Clubmans cars from the 1980’s). This chassis competed in the 2009/10 championships before being replaced by the updated Nemesis K10/K11 which won several Clubmans Proto and Cup championships. The bare rolling chassis was purchased by Team Xoomspeed in 2014 and was subject to a 15-month total rebuild including: the fitting of a 290bhp SBD 2.0 Duratec engine, Elite sequential gearbox, Tran-X LSD, revised suspension geometry, rewired, replumbed (oil and water) etc. The completed car was developed over the 2015 Scottish Sprint Championship season and subsequently won overall Scottish Sprint championship honours in 2016 and 2017, setting new class records at all of the sprint venues and taking two FTDs. There are further development opportunities in the car which should release more speed. Chassis Gibson Nemesis 08 (2008) Clubmans spaceframe with Sports prototype enclosed body. AP 4-pot alloy calipers and AP master cylinders, brake balance adjuster. One set of Rays F3 magnesium centrelock rims, one set of Technomagnesia magnesium rims - both with Avon A15 radial slicks. Engine SBD 2.0 Ford Duratec - 290bhp and 183lbft. All-steel, dry-sumped engine with ultra-light 268mm flywheel, 5.5” twin-plate clutch and geared Ark starter. MBE ECU and main loom. Taper throttle bodies, Sytec fuel pump with pre & post filters, Fuelab FPR, foam-filled alloy tank. Electric water pump. Techcraft repackable alloy silencer. Gearbox and diff Elite IL200-5s sequential gearbox with uprated bearings. Xoomspeed pneumatic paddle gearshift. Sierra 7” rear differential with Tran-X plate-type LSD. Gun-drilled driveshafts (Certa Precision Eng.) with lightweight race CV joints.
