It has preten-sions to being more upmarket with its casinos and more relaxed nightlife. San Agustin can be reached by road by taking the turn off from the main north-south motorway, the GC-1 and then following the GC-500 dual carriageway. It is around 25 minutes by road from the island's main airport. Within reasonable distance of windsurfing hotspot Bahia Feliz is the older and much more established, and some say more upmarket, San Agustin. A Gran Canaria resort with character, San Agustin has all the amenities you'd expect from a good resort base including a large choice of accommodation, various commercial centres offering numerous shops, restaurants and bars. Fans of casinos will be in their element - there are two casinos no less in San Agustin. San Agustin was the first resort to be established on Gran Canaria in the 1970s, even before Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas.
