4 Bedroom Detached Cottage with Land and Views near Penela in Central Portugal. This cute country cottage is nicely situated in a small Hamlet just outside the town of Penela in Central Portugal, it is in a sunny position with land, gently sloping behind the house, there are nice mountain views with country walks around the village, restaurants and cafes are within walking distance, or short time by car. The house is just 10 minutes drive from the main town of Penela which has all everyday amenities. Penela is a Medieval market town with a castle and other points of interest as well as a spa Hotel and plenty of river beaches. The property is nicely situated with neighbours nearby but still allowing plenty of privacy. Entrance to this property is through the sloping drive to the front terrace,there are a few steps up to the front of the property onto the front veranda and the first floor of the house. The entrance leads into a large lounge area, this area has an entrance to 2 small bedrooms, this lounge area has exposed wooden beams keeping the original character of the cottage as well as wooden flooring the 2 small bedrooms are currently used for storage. The 3rd bedroom is larger with a window overlooking the land, electric wall radiator and laminate flooring. Next is the bathroom with sink basin, wc and shower unit, a window overlooking the garden. Also there a door to the back of the property here The fourth bedroom is the biggest, it has a walkin closet and ensuite bathroom, the bathroom has a sink basin, wc and shower unit, the bathroom is neutrally decorated with plain tiles. A staircase leads down to the cosy lounge with wood burner and double aspect windows, the lounge is a good size again with exposed beams and dark slate coloured floor tiles. The lounge leads into the dining room with a window facing the land and slate floor tiles, a corridor then leads to the service bathroom which has a wc and sink basin. Next is the kitchen, with black worktops and plenty of cupboard space. There are light wood base and wall units on both sides with a sink and drainer, gas hob with electric oven and extractor fan above. Windows overlook the land behind a peaceful view of the lovely landscape surrounding the house. Also on this ground floor there is a workshop and garage accessible from the driveway. The back of the property houses a nice covered seating area ideal on those hot sunny days and great for alfresco dining. A pathway from the back garden leads onto the veranda ideal for sunbathing but also an area that gets total sun during the winter months. The land gently slopes downhill away from the house. It has several fruit trees including fig pear cherry and lemon as well as olive trees too, ideal for grazing or to use as a garden it is also accessible from the lane near the house and the driveway. There is a well on the land which is completely fenced. The town of Penela is just a 5 minute drive with all everyday amenities as well as cafes, restaurants, petrol stations and several points of interest. The university city of Coimbra is not far away it is Portugal's 3rd Largest city with a university hospital and several shopping centers. This property has all the makings of a nice family home in the heart of central Portugal.
