The gardens, box hedges and multitude of rose bushes are all immaculately maintained and the pristine facade of this beautiful 18th century chateau looks over the gardens and countryside beyond. A ground up renovation was completed less than 6 years ago with the external facades true to their original design. The interior has been sympathetically modernised and today offers 5 spacious apartments and a indoor sports area. The entrance hall is warm and inviting and a glance through the window of the door into the private pool, sauna and spa complex tempt you to explore further. Serviced by a lift we ride to the 2nd floor where we will discover 2 separate apartments, our visit takes us into the left hand one. As the door opens the quality of materials and level of finish we have seen so far continue with an entrance hall leading to a large lounge/dining room with fireplace, tiled and heated flooring and two large windows leading directly to a wonderful south facing terrace. The kitchen is well equipped and big enough for a breakfast table and also benefits from direct access to the terrace, ideal for that morning croissant or al-fresco dining that this area is famous for. A private corridor leads to a single and double bedrooms both with solid parquet floors, the bathroom with jacuzzi bath is large and light and there is a separate wc. Stairs from the lounge take you to a sizeable landing are with a door leading to a large double bedroom with double aspect views. Across the landing you'll discover an office area and dressing/storage room as well as a shower and wc. The south terrace is large and has fantastic views over the countryside and nearby woodland and below we overlook the formal gardens with paths and resting areas. The property comes with a wine cellar in the basement and two reserved exterior parking spaces. The chateau is located on the edge of a quiet residential area with excellent access to a hospital and shopping centre only 10 minutes away. A short drive sees you in Chinon itself with enough restaurants and wine caves to while away many hours. Excellent access to autoroutes to explore France and Europe whilst offering a more than comfortable base in the heart of the Loire Valley, although with the pool, spa and sauna on site coupled with those great views I'm not sure that we'd be rushing off anywhere soon.
