This rustic house is more than a home, it is a life project; Olivier conveys his enthusiasm to us when he shows us the spectacular house that he himself-accompanied by a team-restored in the town of Tindaya, north of Fuerteventura. As we visit, he tells us that it took him two years to restore this house whose original structure dates from the 18th century, a time when "the colonels" resided on the island, sent by the Catholic Monarchs. For this monumental restoration, stones from the quarry of the sacred mountain of Tindaya -currently protected-, hardwood, cement, brick and lime have been used. Our tour begins with the spectacular porch protected from the wind with thick windows that allow us to integrate into that balanced and minimalist landscape that this island offers us. We wander through spacious rooms with exposed stone, wooden ceilings and windows that open onto the sea and the Tindaya mountain.
