Mum loves sunbathing on the beach, dad relaxes under the parasol and reads the newspaper while the children want to kick a ball around and soak for hours. And after the sea? After the sea comes hunger, a rush to eat a pizza and have a cool drink, and in the evening a nice walk along the seafront. This is the ideal day for families who every year dream of their holidays by the sea... but where? Among the particulars of Scicli is Sampieri, a small hamlet of the town that could perhaps fulfil these desires, offering a breathtaking beach, a clear blue sky, a sandy coast, a rocky one and various activities offered by the lidos. There is certainly no shortage of culture here, and hence sites of historical interest to visit, the prime example being the 'Fornace Penna' in contrada Pisciotto, a secular basilica that produced bricks until 1924 and was the jewel in the crown of industrial technology for the times. Its beauty did not go unnoticed by the production of the hit TV series 'Il Commissario Montalbano', which chose it as one of the main sets for several episodes where Montalbano has to solve the intriguing mysteries of Vigata, or rather Scicli. As if that were not enough, the Fornace Penna itself rests on a piece of history, in fact, it was in the adjacent rocks that ships from Africa used to dock, this was in fact the commercial port of Scicli, called 'Marsa Siklah' by the Arabs. Approximately one kilometre from the beaches and the Fornace, there could therefore be a solution to your daily stresses, where you can enjoy your holiday moments in the tranquillity of the countryside but at a short distance from the sea. On a plot of just under 4000 square metres is a detached house of about 110 square metres in need of renovation developed on a single floor. Surrounded by land decorated with almond, pine, palm and citrus trees, where a vegetable garden or a magnificent green lawn could be created, the house, far from noise and distractions, currently has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a large kitchen, a comfortable living room and a bright dining room. Going up a few steps of an external staircase, one reaches the terrace, from which one can observe the surrounding characteristic countryside and the beaches of the Sciclitano coastline, where it would be perfect to sip a glass of wine at sunset, reading a book or solving a crossword puzzle. To the left of the house is a further building, formerly used as a storage room, which could become a very useful annexe, a small independent flat where friends and relatives could stay or why not rent it out to ensure a small income.
