THE CAR Included in the sale is an Opel Vectra saloon car, registered in 2001. It has a yearly MOT, is serviced every two years and only does about 3000 miles per year. CATRAL TOWN The property is a few minutes drive from Catral town centre, where there are shops, supermarkets, banks, good bars and restaurants and a church square. There are two internet cafes and also a Saturday market where you will find wonderful fresh produce. NEARBY AMENITIES A 20 minute drive will take you to the long, sandy, Blue Flag beaches of Guardamar and La Marina. Both are backed by bars and restaurants or, further along, by quiet pine forests and dunes. The golf courses of Villa Martin, Real Campoamor, Las Ramblas, La Marquesa and La Finca are a short drive away with Bonalba, Alicante, Allende and La Manga within easy driving distance. Local golf societies welcome guests. There are two aqua parks within a 30 minutes drive - one at Quesada and the other on the edge of Torrevieja. The nearby mountains and El Hondo nature reserve are a haven for walkers and cyclists. Bikes are available for hire and horse riding is available nearby at El Refugio, where there is also a good value restaurant. The area is excellent for bird watchers and hoopoes, owls and egrets can be seen from the villa in the nearby fields. Pink flamingoes can be seen in large numbers on the salt flats of Santa Pola. For eagles and vultures, take a drive into the surrounding mountains, where they ride the thermals in large numbers. The region’s capital, Alicante, is 35 km away and Elche is 25 km. Both are sophisticated, historic cathedral cities with museums, galleries, botanic gardens and some of the smartest department stores. The vibrant coastal town of Torrevieja is 25 km. La Manga Club is 45 km away, with La Manga strip and the warm Mar Menor just beyond. The villa is situated almost mid way between Alicante and Murcia airports, with Alicante a 30 minutes drive and Murcia 35 minutes. Both airports have many daily flights from all over the UK.
