It is enclosed within two splendid promontories, Punta del Carlino to the east and Madonnina della punta to the west perfected by typical Mediterranean scrub and its long beach with crystal clear waters. Thanks to its small size, Bonassola offers peace and serenity even in the high summer season. Among the pretty alleyways and typical Ligurian streets are excellent restaurants, bars and small souvenir shops. Landmarks of the town are the two historical monuments such as the church of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, built in the first half of the 16th century, and the Ardoino tower, built starting in 1544 by local labourers. It fell into disrepair in the mid-17th century , probably and is now an evocative ruin. Some of the stones and those from the old Church were used to construct the bell tower of the parish church of San Giorgio. DISTANCES POINT OF INTERESTS: Bonassola ?
