Aquamarina, being one of Gran Canarias most extravagant residential complexes, built in the years 1973-76. One of the creators of these structures was the Swede Rolf Hedenberg, the man who also constructed the extravagant "Monte del Moro" in San Agustin. Aquamar, which was inaugurated in 1973 has 106 bungalows and 54 apartments, and almost all of them with sea view. The apartments are situated in the main building and holds a big living room with an open kitchen, bedroom and a big balcony. Some of the apartments are today combined, so there are different sizes from 53 m2 and up to penthouses at more than 200 m2. Montemarina was inaugurated at the end of 1976 and have 210 apartments in sizes from 54 m2 and up to penthouses at more than 200 m2. The building is in a very modern architecture and is spectacular from the seaside with all the bougainvillea's and geraniums, being in flower around the year in all the pot plant stands.
