The beach, Playa de Ajabo, was totally refurbished during 2011 and 2012 and reopened in 2014 and, although a volcanic sandy beach, which for some reason some people aren't keen on, is a great beach with sun-beds and parasols and the sea is quite calm thanks to a water break which was built during the beach refurbishment. Los Cristianos is a 7 or 8 minute drive away and Playa de Las Americas is another few minutes further down the TF1 and going the other way, the airport is 15-20 minutes away.
