House rent in Cuneo Piedmont
A period villa with park for sale in the town of Cuneo. The origins of the house go back to the 1700’s while its current form is the result of a 1912 restoration based on a project of one the era’s most famous architects. Surrounded formerly by open countryside, besides its own gardens, the location has in the meantime been incorporated into the residential area of the town of Cuneo, while still maintaining its expansive green area which assures perfect privacy and undisturbed enjoyment of the outdoors which include an Italian-style ornamental garden, a park and a vegetable garden. The architect designed not only the home’s exterior but also its interiors, creating genuine “art nouveau” spaces. The villa still contains precious decorations like fireplaces, floor and wall ornaments, wood cabinets and cupboards and even original chairs designed by the home’s creator. This is what gives the house its incomparable overarching and harmonic atmosphere. The designs and drawings made by the architect are still extant. Some minor changes, all of them mindful of the home’s original character, have been made over the years to update the home’s livability. The villa spreads over three floors in its central section and two floors in its side sections. The first two floors measure over 190 square meters each while the upper-most floor has a surface of over 85 square meters. The villa is currently subdivided into two self-contained though connected apartments but it can be rearranged to suit other needs, as a single-family home, a home for two or three families or a private residence with a holiday rental section. There are as many as two cellar with spectacular barrel vaults. Sideways from the main villa two garages have been built at a later date, as well as an outbuilding for storing garden tools and equipment. These additions do not in any way encroach on the views onto the main body of the villa with its Renaissance-inspired features. The outdoors extends over 2500 square meters and includes a well-kept Italian-style ornamental garden in front of the villa’s internal façade, with carefully arranged and trimmed hedges and an arbor at the center, furthermore a vegetable garden and the park with century-old trees. We have been impressed by this unique property which we are proud to propose to our clients among whom we believe there will be those wishing to enjoy and cherish it as its current owners have done for years.
