In 1995 Elliott raced the car at Sears Point and at Watkins Glen (where he qualified second). In 1996, Elliott was injured and the car was driven by Tommy Kendall (at Sears Point) and Dorsey Schroeder (Watkins Glen). The car served as a backup car in 1997 and then was retired to the team’s pit practice car in its original Thunderbird/McDonald’s livery. The car was first restored by Elliott's team in the fall of 1998 for Historic NASCAR Racing. Since 1998, the car was owned and cared for by a series of four vintage racers, all residing in Paradise Valley, Arizona. This #94 Thunderbird racecar is being sold fully-prepped in Scottsdale, Arizona, in race-ready condition with a fresh 370 CI, 871 hp SRE/Gaerte race motor (dyno sheet included) built at a documented cost (receipts provided) of $28,500, along with the original 358 CI Ernie Elliott Racing NASCAR race motor and a GForce 4-speed gearbox. The car will be sold on Bill of Sale with race logbooks, set up/engine notes and specs, assorted spares, and many sets of wheels and race tires (including two sets of sticker tires).
