1990 ALFA ROMEO SZ TROFEO A stripped-out racing example of the modern classic Zagato-built performance car – understood to be one of only 13 examples built. Under the bonnet is the 3.0-litre 12v Alfa Romeo V6, producing around 207bhp, coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. It has benefited from a previous overhaul and a recent service, and is reported to be in very good mechanical condition. The suspension for this SZ was taken from the Alfa Romeo 75 group A/IMSA car and modified by Giorgio Pianta, renowned engineer and manager of the Lancia and Fiat rally works team, and it features a Koni hydraulic damper system. Its stripped-out cabin is equipped with a single Sparco bucket seat with an OMP racing harness, along with Veglia Borletti dials and a three-spoke steering wheel. Its original ‘Dichiarazione di Conformita’ will be included, issued by Alfa Lancia S.p.A, along with its Automobile Club D’Italia Sport certificate and a raft of maintenance invoices.
