Facing west, you enter outside through NanaWall custom doors which can be folded open (there are pocket screen doors that can be closed to allow fresh air into the apartment) and custom bluestone sills into a paradise of lounges, chairs, lots of lovely plantings and a water feature - and the whole area is wired for any devices you bring along There is a trellis above the patio which is lovely as is but could likely accommodate some kind of vegetation, and not a space where you can't lounge in either sun or shade either for work, watching TV (there is a hookup), conversation with friends or simply taking a nap. There is very little, if anything, comparable to this in the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Seeing it is believing it! The apartment has central air conditioning and is situated in the building in a very quiet corner. The building is a full service co-op with a garage accessible from the building elevator. They have the best staff imaginable, a computerized laundry room, a common garden, a bike room and a location in a street lined with historic townhouses just blocks from the action of Soho or the West Village but without the crowds. Subways are available a block away in two directions (the 1 and the C) and access to the Holland Tunnel is easy. There are also bike/walking paths close by on the river and, of course, all the restaurants and retail in both SoHo and the Village (and Tribeca) very close by, including restaurant Via Carota, just voted number 4 in a list of the 100 best New York restaurants, and a Trader Joe's on Spring if you prefer cooking at home. The neighborhood is evolving with the advent of Google and ESPN/Disney, and along with that new services are arriving or planned.
