On the Chianti Hills, just outside San Casciano in Val di Pesa, masterfully restored farmhouse with 12th-century medieval tower and 10,000 sqm of land. The farmhouse is located in an extremely quiet but easily reached location and is provided with all the necessary services by the nearby village (2km; 5'). The farmhouse (1,250 sqm - 13,450 sqft, up to 12 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms) is laid out onto four floors and is currently split into two independent apartments: - Master apartment (4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms): entrance hall, dining room, living room, studio, kitchen, studio, portico and panoramic terrace with stone oven on the ground floor. Through a staircase leading downward from the entrance hall one can reach a small cellar. The original building of the property is a watchtower (still visible by observing the different texture of the walls) dating back to the mid-12th century and built to guard the Pesa river. Through the centuries the property was in the possession of many Florentine noble families and became a tout-court countryside residence, even considering that by the late 16th century Tuscany was entirely unified under the Medici rule and San Casciano in Val di Pesa lost its function of military outpost. Enlarged through the years, the property is nowadays a wonderful and ample farmhouse, masterfully restored without losing any of those typical elements which make us travel through time to the Middle Ages: the imposing stone walls, the original terracotta floors, oak and chestnut wooden beams, stone fireplaces, wooden trusses, lancet-arched doorways and finely restored wooden fixtures.
