Dom czynsz w Arnesano Apulia
The building is located in the heart of the Cupa Valley, where numerous residences were built between the 17th and 18th centuries as summer vacation homes for families belonging to the nobility of Lecce, and still retains the architectural aspects of the original 18th-century complex. On the ground floor, there are large rooms covered by star vaults where the olive press, the stable, some rooms related to the daily life of the residents and/or probably the farmer's house are located. On the first floor, originally partially covered by tiles supported by a canopy, there is access through a comfortable double-ramp staircase with the entrance to a large square, while a long balustrade balcony serves as a hallway for the rooms on the upper floor. The main facade, whose original design develops on lines of absolute symmetry, is distinguished on the upper floor by the elegance of the long balustrade supported by molded columns and pillars, as well as by the elegant design of the windows above the doors. On the ground floor, it is distinguished by the majesty of the access arches in front of the rooms and by the arched frames that frame the entrance door to the staircase compartment and a niche inside which traces of a religious fresco are preserved. In addition, inside the rooms on the ground floor, all the pillars of the vaults are embellished with molded frames, including those of the service rooms such as the olive press and the stable. Around the mid-19th century, a new extension consisting of some rooms and a small chapel where Sunday functions were held serving also the rural houses of the district was added to the original 18th-century two-level structure. It is likely that during this construction phase, the entrance door was redone, now framed by four powerful columns, the avenue, and the reorganization of the exedra in front of the building, as well as the large enclosed garden area behind it, were designed and realized in harmony, inside which, among the varieties of citrus and ornamental plants, the garden develops.
